OHEYA | RESTAURANT

Interior Design | 1,000 SF | Houston, Texas

Oheya, tucked behind its sister restaurant Uchi in Houston, Texas, has reimagined the omakase experience with a cozy atmosphere. Oheya, translated to “the room” in Japanese, is a direct reflection of this intimate space. Once one enters this 1,000 SF space, you are immediately greeted at the dining table. A singular 12-top bronze countertop wrapped around where the cooks work. The design intent behind Oheya was to help create a chic, minimal environment where the food would be true design. With soft colors, lighting, and soft curtains, to create a calming environment with thoughtful detail. The tambour wood and brass accents blend into the lightness of the space to symbolize the true meaning of omakase: “I leave it up to you.” The custom brass door frame highlights the venue’s unique craftsmanship and intention behind each selection.
